Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 22, 2026

LocalHelp LawnCare ("we," "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we keep it safe.

1. What We Collect

Customers: name, email, phone, property address, lawn area measurements, GPS coordinates (for service zone verification), lawn photos (for accurate pricing), and payment information processed through Stripe.

Contractors: name, email, phone, ZIP code, equipment list, lawn size preferences, bio, government-issued ID (for identity verification), completion photos, and account password.

Youth contractors (under 18): parent/guardian name, parent/guardian government ID, and parental consent acknowledgment — in addition to the above.

2. Why We Collect It

  • To match customers with available contractors
  • To process orders and payments
  • To verify contractor identity before approving them to work
  • To send order updates (confirmation, mow started, mow completed)
  • To improve the platform

3. Who Can See Your Data

Your contact information is shared only with the contractor assigned to your job, so they can coordinate the service. Contractor names are visible to customers on their order status. Government ID photos are reviewed only by our admin team during the approval process and are never shared with customers or other contractors.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.

4. How We Protect It

Passwords are stored using industry-standard one-way hashing — we cannot see or recover your password. Government ID photos are access-restricted and only viewable by authorized administrators. All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS. We follow standard security practices to protect your information.

5. Third-Party Services

  • Stripe — payment processing. Your payment details are handled entirely by Stripe and never touch our servers. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
  • Resend — transactional email delivery (order confirmations, status updates).
  • OpenStreetMap / Nominatim — address lookup and map display.
  • Cloudflare — DNS and security.

6. Data Retention

Customer order data is retained for business records and dispute resolution. Contractor data is retained while the account is active. When a contractor account is removed, associated data including ID photos is deleted within 30 days. Waitlist entries are retained until you unsubscribe or we expand to your area.

7. Your Rights

You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct inaccurate information, or request deletion of your account and data. Email [email protected] for any of these requests.

8. Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you logged in and localStorage for your theme preference. No tracking cookies or analytics.

9. Children

Youth contractors (ages 14-17) may register with verified parental consent. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 14.

10. Changes

We may update this policy and will notify registered users of material changes via email. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance.
